Webmasters are now realizing the value of Facebook promotion and creating a website without a Facebook business page can almost be seen as a sin. Your website or blog will need a Facebook business page to help promote and brand your new venture. Some people just don’t get how Facebook works and see it as a website where people socialize. Well I am here to tell you that this is not true. Making a Facebook business page is the best thing that you can do for your new WordPress website business!
Why Facebook Is Great For Business?
We all know that Facebook provides us with exposure and traffic for our businesses, but the thing that kicked me over the edge was the fact that it brings traffic that converts. After all if you are a Webmaster isn’t this what you want? I know I do. It hasn’t proved to be the highest money earner from websites that referred traffic to me, however it has landed itself in my top five. Now this tells me that it is worth making an effort in making a Facebook business page and driving traffic to your website.
The benefits To Creating A Facebook Business Page
- Creating a Facebook business page adds to the branding of your website.
- People find it easy to interact on a Facebook page.
- It is much easier to press a like button than it is to add in your name and e-mail and go to a sign up process.
- Your potential website visitors are almost definitely members of Facebook.
The Disadvantages To Creating A Facebook Business Page
I am yet to think of a disadvantage for creating a Facebook business page. We all know that if you are in business, even a website business, you need customers and visitors to your door. How could there be a disadvantage to getting a free page on the Internet that advertises your business?
When it comes to using Facebook for personal reasons, I could probably tell you a few disadvantages, but as for using Facebook for business, I cannot think of any.
What makes a good Facebook business page?
Interesting Content
The best Facebook business pages add content that entices followers to press the like button. Really juicy content that might not be even listed on your website, but is focused at the same time on your particular niche. Your visitors need to get some value add of your page, even one little tiny tip, that will push them over the edge and make them press the like or share button.
Filling In The Blanks
There are a few tabs available when you first set up your Facebook business page. People often neglect to fill in these pages and they are left empty. I suggest that you go through all your tabs and fill them up with interesting bits of information, all to do with your niche.
Interaction With Visitors
I personally like to let
A Clear Subject On Your Facebook Business Page
This is similar to focusing on your niche. People need to land on your Facebook page and understand immediately what this page is for. If you have too many subjects mentioned it may be unclear to your potential customer and they might leave your Facebook page.
Setting The Right Landing Page
Setting the right landing page is crucial for your Facebook business page. You do not want your potential customer to land on an empty boring page with nothing to do. Here is an article I have written showing you how to set the right Facebook landing page.
Using All The Branding Space
This is something that many people fail to do on the Facebook business page. They do not use the resources that are available to them. For example you can put a huge logo, approximately 200 x 600 pixels, in the left column on your Facebook page. This amount of space can hold a lot of advertising and can give you a chance to attract your customers. Another example is making a custom-made FBML (Facebook markup language) landing page with your own graphics on it. See the graphics on the right-hand side and at the top of this page, this is the kind of stuff you can brand your page with. You could even get a professional to do it and it would probably look 100% better.
Here is a video I posted on YouTube that shows you how to make a custom-made FBML tab for your Facebook page.
Networking With Others
Connect with other Facebook business page owners and share your content between your pages and therefore possibly picking up more fans. You can post tips and links on to other peoples Facebook pages and if the information is valuable they probably will not mind. The best scenario would be that they pressed like on your post or even visit your Facebook business page. If you are going to do this you must allow them to post on your page as well.
Watch My Video To See Some Facebook Business Page Tips
If you are still stumped on where to start, and on how to do all this stuff, watch this video below and you will get an idea.
Warning: this video is 17 min long so please do not fall asleep. It would probably be easier to see if you made the video full-screen by pressing on the little icon down in the right-hand corner of the video. Also when creating your Facebook business page, the options have changed as there are now six categories for a page. If you have a website I suggest you choose the brand or product category.
