We all know and love the Google keyword tool because not only is it a handy tool, but it is also free. Being a fulltime blogger, I often use the Google keyword tool, sometimes as many as three times a day. (I know I may have a problem :))
Anyway, the first tip I have for you is to sign into your Google Adwords account to get access to the full advantages when using the Google keyword tool. For example, if you do not sign into your Google ad words account you will be faced with the security Captcha when searching. This can be extremely annoying, and all you have to do is sign in to your account to avoid this.
Now lets get to 5 handy ways to use the Google keyword tool…
#0. Keyword Research – We all know that
Of course we all use Google keyword tool to perform keyword research so I am not counting this as a tip. I have at least three top keyword research programs and I still find myself going back to the Google keyword tool. Did I mention I love the Google Keyword Tool?
#1. Finding LSI keywords
When you are researching a keyword, there will be a list of related keywords (LSI) that can come in handy for many things when it comes to building websites. I like to get my WordPress post categories from the list of related keywords that the Google keyword tool provides. I also use the related keywords in the articles, scattered throughout, to support the main keyword. You can probably see a good example of this in the video I have provided below.
#2. Estimated CPC with the Google Keyword Tool
If you have Adsense on your WordPress website, you can search for keywords and also find their estimated CPC ( cost per click). This is only an estimation, however it definitely is beneficial to go for a word that has an estimated CPC of one dollar than it is a keyword with a nine cents CPC. All you have to do is enable the CPC to be shown.
How to enable the estimated CPC column in the Google keyword tool?
1. Before pressing on the search button, press on the advanced options and filters link.
2. You will see extra options appear. Move down to the area where it says filter keywords.
3. From the drop-down menu choose approximate CPC.
As you can see in the screenshot above, you can also choose to show results greater than all lower than a certain price. I have chosen to get results greater than two dollars.
#3. Researching domain names
Sometimes when I cannot find the best
For example I use Namecheap to buy my domain names and all you have to do is press on the bulk domain search. Many other domain name sellers also provide this option. This allows you to paste a full list of keywords into a box, then choose your preferred .com or.net option, and then press search. Downloading the list of potential keywords from the Google keyword tool is the most important step.
#4. SEO on old post
I have a few old websites and applying Search Engine Optimization to a previously published post is a great way to revive your content. Google keyword tool plays a big part in this operation. Please see the video below for more information. Warning: 18min video can cause drowsiness!

#5. Finding keywords your website ranks for
Webmasters often forget that you can type in the address of your website or your competitors website to find the most popular keywords within that website. I definitely recommend that every Webmaster try this as you may find something interesting. For example I often find keywords that I did not even know I was ranking for.
1. The first thing you do is type in your websites URL into the get Google keyword tool, as shown below.
2. Then press on the search button and wait for the results.
3. When the results appear you are then able to click on a particular keyword and Google search will open in another window.
4. Now you will see where you are ranking for a particular keyword.
I know that there are many free Google tools to use when you are or a Webmaster but let’s discuss how you use the Google keyword tool.
