As bloggers and online entrepreneurs, one of the things we seek to do is make more money. This year, it will be very exciting to at least double the income we generate online.

We don’t double our income by doing the same things we did last year at the same pace. Some of these things, we must put in a little more effort. However, some of us put more effort and focus on the wrongs things.

Once you’ve identified the right and scalable aspects of your business, focus on them, rinse and repeat, improve your skills, etc, you are certainly going to drive more sales. So as bloggers, who want to generate income blogging, which areas should we focus on?

1 – Promote more affiliate products!

As a matter of fact, the key is not even promoting as many products as you fine online. Rather, focus and promote products that are relevant and add value to your blog for your readers.

I have said it a couple of times that Affiliate Marketing is one of the best ways to generate income online especially if you don’t want to get into the worries of creating and maintaining a product.

What you do is simply promote products and get get paid commissions. So how do you proceed this year to double your income through Affiliate Marketing?

a) Get the right Training materials

Most bloggers fail because they are dabbling. They don’t know the right things to do that will generate the right results. They lack the necessary information so everything else they do fails.

The first investment I recommend is training. As bloggers, there are things we do that will generate consistent results. I suggest grabbing a copy of Affiliate Marketing For Bloggers, an ebook I specifically wrote for bloggers in any niche, wishing to make money in Affiliate Marketing blogging.

I share my hidden tips in this ebook while digging deep into what some very successful bloggers do to generate the kind of income they show us on their income report pages. Most of these things, you are never going to see on their blogs.

One of the products I started promoting now pays me $72 monthly. This started off gradually and the monthly income is growing. Simply, I have setup my blog to constantly drive traffic to this product and make sales on auto-pilot.

$72 may not be a huge amount but remember this is just one of the many products and it’s just the beginning. I revealed more of this stuffs in my ebook.

While I encourage and use a couple of free tools, I recommend getting the right premium tools starting from your blog’s theme as this plays a lot on your business.

Doing product reviews is a great way to generate income with your blog. (I gave some really cool and hidden tips in my ebook) If you really want to excel and do well in review posts, you may need premium plugins like AuthorhReview that will single your reviews out on SERPs.

As far as Affiliate Marketing is concerned, promoting membership sites is the best. The reason is that you make the sale once but you get paid forever.

Once the clients is charged a monthly fee, you get paid your commission. That’s why I recommend you do some findings and promote products in your niche that will pay you over and over again.

2 – Drive more targeted traffic

Whatever you do online, without targeted traffic, you end up making no sales. Note that it’s not just about driving traffic. The traffic must be relevant as that’s the only way you can be sure of a positive CTR.

There are many traffic channels including Search engines, Social media, Emails, Direct and other referral sources. While all of this is good at driving real traffic, I recommend you focus on two:

a) Emails: Your email list is your market place. Anytime, you can tap into it and pull relevant traffic to your articles. That’s why I highly recommend any blogger to build a list.

If you solely depend on social media, one day, Facebook or Twitter will change their rules and that may mean a huge decline of your business. Your list remains yours and you can carry it along to other places.

b) Search Engines: Search engines are the best source of traffic that converts. This is because traffic from Google and others is natural. This means people who visit your blog through them discover your contents based on what they want and what they want is known through their search terms.

So if you want to double your income through more targeted traffic, I suggest you pull more traffic from search engines.

You do this by publishing content that Google loves and attract backlinks that will influence your search rankings.

So those are some of the two things you need to do this year to take your income to a whole new level.
