Let’s Discuss 10 Reasons On Why Your Blog Maybe Hiding Behind The Scenes & Not Getting Any Traffic…

1) The Content On “Your Blog Is Not Genuine”: Who in the world wants to waste time going to a blog that’s all thrown together? No one does especially if you are looking to gain trust & loyalty from your readers, so if you want to get your point across & keep your audience interested in what you have to say then grab pen & paper, start researching your topic & keywords then get to writing!

2) You’re Not Really “Grabbing Your Readers Attention“: Have you ever came across an interesting blog post heading, clicked on it, read paragraph after paragraph only to be left clueless?
Along with keeping your content original you need to break long paragraphs up into # lists like these:

5 Tips On…

How To Videos…

3 Techniques…

7 Strategies…

10 Ways Of…

6 Steps On…

Believe me this works out better for your audience, adding clickable links to other related blog posts usually works well to.

3) Your Layout Is In A “Ball Of Confusion”: This is another reason why your blog maybe hiding behind the scenes you need to make sure you have a category section & a tag cloud this makes it easier for your readers to click on topics & keywords they are interested in & if you have any ads on your site they need to be separated & not standing on top of each other.

Your background needs to be mellow & not to bright, the text should also be big enough to read but small enough to fit enough text in.

4) Your Blog Is In The Dark: It really amazes me how people set their blog up, add a few pieces of content & then become disappointed when they aren’t making any money online…seriously!

Once you get your blog up & going then it’s time to find out where your target market is hanging out at so that you can start networking & answering any questions they may have. This is a great to way to promote your blog otherwise nobody will ever know it exist.

5 More Reasons Why Your Blog Maybe Hiding Behind The Scenes…

5) Where In The Heck Are Your Pictures At: Now that we’ve talked about keeping your readers attention what do you think pictures are for? In fact 90% of people are visual learners so including eye catching pictures & videos are a great way of keeping your readers interest.

6) Poor Quality Content: You don’t have to be “Ms Eggerson the English teacher” to know how to use proper grammar but you do need to check over your content & use the spell check button.

7) Not Responding To Questions & Comments: If someone takes the time to leave a comment or ask you a question make sure you respond back to them. Also go to their blog & leave a comment as I have mentioned before this is a great way to start building trust & relationships.

8) Always Trying To Pitch A Sale: Your blog should be associated with your business but you don’t want to come off as an aggressive salesperson “begging people” to purchase your products, this is one of the quickest ways to run your audience off & is another good reason on why your blog maybe hiding behind the scenes.

(2) More Reasons On Why Your Blog Maybe Hiding Behind The Scenes…

9) Not Keeping Up With Your Blog Maintenance: Blog maintenance is similar to car maintenance you can’t just continue to drive a car without keeping it maintained & the same applies to your blog. You need update your theme from time to time, the layout & designs this keeps your site refreshed & updated.

10) Your Will & Desire Isn’t Strong Enough: Don’t you just love it when people get excited about the idea of being able to build their business online & earn extra income, then when the reality sets in that they actually have to do some “real work” they are ready to throw the towel in & quit. Do you realize that anything worth having takes hard work?

My Final Statement On Why Your Blog Maybe Hiding Behind The Scenes Is This…

If you are “serious about being successful” at this then you have to be willing to put in the research, hard work, long hours & consistency after you start building your brand the rest should will be a piece of cake for you.

  4. Hey i’m glad this is a tough business there would be way too many people trying to blog just to make money… Google Panda would have had to work overtime to get all that trash out of their search results.

I love pictures in my posts.. I’ve spent so much time on finding the best picture.. It’s really a way to connect with the reader.

One thing I’ll add is people don’t do enough marketing.. I had a guy tell me I had some great content but I was pushing it out too fast.. Not giving my posts enough time to mature…

After I post a post, i now hit up forums and get involved in major discussions. It’s also a great practice to add yourself to facebook groups.. get involved and post your content..

and you better have some social sharing buttons on your blog so visitors can share your content.. Great way to get visitors coming to your blog…

  5. Guilty. I’m so guilty of most of these things. I really need to get on top of my blogs and put more time into generating the content and then making it visually appealing.

This was a good kick in the rear post for me. Many thanks!

These are decent thoughts and something to think about. I do tend to click on a catchy title. Of course you need more than just a catchy title once you get someones attention and get them there. You don’t want to scare them away as fast as they got there. Overall I think these were good ideas.

I like that “Ball Of Confusion”, what a way to describe some blogs. But it is true, they can be. I think mine is right now. I’m in the process of cleaning it up.

YOu know what I hate the most? The ones that seem like a one way conversation. The blogger writes a post, people comment and then nothing. No discussion. These bloggers need to get with the blog program.

The issue with a lot of bloggers including myself is it becomes very easy to procrastinate from adding fresh content.

What people like me end up doing is realise we’ve not posted in a while then we bulk post over a period of 2 days then neglect again when in reality blogging is about fresh content at regular intervals which, in theory is a lot easier.

I’d also like to add, a big turnoff for me is a blog with no logo, i.e just text as it tells met the author doesn’t care and it could be one of many (potential autoblog) sites they have whereas a site even with a mediocre attempt at a logo (like mine!) show’s some effort has been made and that it’s likely to be written by a human!

Everything should work hand in hand. From the content, to the layout and design, to the marketing.. etc. But for me, what I am focusing now is the marketing, because you can have all the great content in the world, but if people don’t really know your blog exists, then it still isn’t gonna work for you. Appreciate also, your already avid readers because they help you market your blog too.

Nice list … I love Ball of Confusion. There’s always room for improvement. I’m still surprised to see sites with content everywhere, even flashing text – literally a ball of confusion.

It takes effort to build solid content that people can learn to trust and want to share to build a buzz.

    Thanks.

  16. Thank you for the information. But based on what I know, what you need is to make a move and get your article or blog noticed. Have it posted in prominent article sites. Suggest more keywords and provide good links. This will probably get your article noticed. Make the links have worthwhile products.

Lots of good ideas of why a blog may not be seen. There are others too. Sometimes even when you have good content if you don’t know the technical side of things, you can get a bit lost. SEO, keywords and other technical elements like these are equally important to getting a blog seen online.

Very good article Toshiba! I found it very interesting, and informative. I will certainly try some of your suggestions myself. The part about breaking the long paragraphs by adding clickable links was very smart and helpful. Thank you! I also noticed that in your article you repeat the basic topic, as a headline or subcategory, three times in the article.. Is that some kind of trick too?

    Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing these amazing tips. Obviously succcess of a blog does lie in a lot of hard work and dedication. All advice mentioned above, if followed thoroughly, can produce a jackpot blog.

I just wanted to mention that the biggest turn off for me, is a blog that is full to over flowing with ads, by all means put some ads on your blog, but keep it in moderation. You may have the best content in the world but if you turn someone off straight away due to ads getting in the way of the content, then you are going to turn off your visitor and end up with nothing.

  27. One more reason of not getting any traffic can be your domain age. Generally, new domains are not given much preference in the search results by the search engines. As your blog grows older, it gets more attention by the search engines.
