Great article Tanmay. I have been using Facebook as a business tool for a while, but mostly I have used it as a way to communicate with customers. It works great for this purpose. I haven’t sold anything yet directly on Facebook, and even though I have used ads, I have mostly used them to gain followers and attention to content.

With over 1 billion+ people on Facebook, absolutely is a great tool to earn money from. Unless you have a good chunk of change to run ads where you can bid at a decent price it’s going to be a long road online for Facebook. Quick tip for all, join a bunch of Facebook groups relating to your niche and post in the groups but don’t SPAM it. Lots of free traffic, overall great post Tanmay.

I have found that the FB Ads are not very effective. I feel as if I am wasting LOTS of money running Ads on FB. Other than that I see FB as a good tool to get my blog posts out to my fans. I have seen the traffic to my site jump by almost 100% since posting my blog posts on FB.

Agree with you Facebook is a great online marketing tool. However, there are many pro’s and con’s associated with a Facebook Business Page. Ever wonder why the number of Facebook subscribers lead all other social networks? Because, although Facebook is free, they require every Facebook Business Page be associated with a personal account if you want to utilize all the Facebook tools. That’s two accounts for every one person doing business. If you elect to join Facebook only as a business, your limited with marketing tools, i.e., “Likes”, “Insights”, “Searches”, etc. Twitter allows you to promote either yourself or business with no “catch 22′s” and has recently had a faster growth rate than Facebook.
