Mid Feb Update

Welcome to the new look updates for ComLuv.com coming to you via the newly integrated FeedBlitz service. Hopefully, this way of providing updates means I don’t have to take time away from important offline duties to make and send a newsletter.

New look

From now on I wont be typing out a newsletter every two weeks. Instead, I’ll be updating the main site blog and the posts on there will automatically go out as a summary on the newsletter. All without me touching a thing!

Plugin Updated

Version 2.766 has been released to the official plugin repository on wordpress.org
This new version fixes a minor bug that would make the last blog post link appear twice when used in conjunction with another plugin. You can now change the background colour of the info panel and I added a small bit which lets me debug installs.

Premium only?

The anti-splog plugin is working well and has caught a number of automated sploggers but, there are still an awful amount of realestateloans and bestcreditcard blogs on the network. I am seriously considering moving to a premium only and charging a token amount to start a blog here.

I need your feedback on this. My initial thoughts are:

1 dollar for 1 month
2 dollars for 3 months
5 dollars for 12 months

So you can get a whole 12 months for just 5 USD. I think that’s a reasonable amount considering that you get super fast access and SEO

tools and benefits straight away. You also get access to priority support, a paying customer will always get answered before anyone else.

I have coded the extras and integrated it with the premium.wpmudev.org plugin for pay to blog and when activated, any blog that hasn’t paid will still show to the public but when the blog owner logs on, they’ll be presented with a screen showing the paypal buttons to subscribe.

No money? No problem!

If you’re after a blog but you don’t have the money or access to paypal then you can use the page to request a free blog. If you are a real blogger and not out to copy/paste your content from others blogs then the chances are good that that you will be granted a free blog.

An example of a blog that would be granted a free ride would be Jen Spencers scrapbooking blog

Umm oh no

I will be offline and not very available for a while. The takeaway computer for taking orders had a complete hard drive failure due to a power cut. I am so mad! all the edits I did to the pay to blog plugin were on that hard drive along with a full backup of this site.

I think the logic board is fried so I am going to attempt to change it with one from an identical model hard drive and see if that can get me some rescued files! Oh god, I wish I had updated my dropbox more often from that pc :-z
