If you’re an iOS user, and you uses Facebook, you definitely know that the Facebook iOS App doesn’t allow you to copy posts, which forces you to open the web version of Facebook just to accomplish that, which is, pretty annoying without a doubt.

But as always, the jailbreak community got your back, a new FREE Cydia Tweak called “Enable Copy text in Facebook app” (very imaginative name but straightforward name), that lets you Copy a Facebook status update by holding it.

Now as I said, for this to work your device MUST be jailbroken, to see if your device is jailbroken, I recommend taking a look at this website, which tells you what method to use (if available) depending on your device’s model and version, so go do it now, and come back when you’re done.

Note: I am not responsible for any problems that you might have with your device when jailbreaking, it is not expected that anything goes in the process but it is recommended to backup all your data to iTunes and/or iCloud. For more info about Jailbreaking, check this page on Wikipedia.

Now for the fun part, after you have jailbroke your device, open Cydia, you should be prompted with the Default Cydia Home Screen, just tap on Search, and search for the tweak and it should appear just like this.

style="text-align: left;">I think this one is pretty straightforward, just tap on the result and you should be granted by the Tweak’s page, all you have to do is tap “Install” then “Confirm” and wait for the installer to finish, then you should see a button that says “Restart Springboard”, tap on it and wait for your device to Respring.

From here, just unlock your device, open the Facebook application, look for a post you want to copy, and hold on it, you should see a popup saying “Saved text to clipboard!”, which means that you have copied the text.

I hope you guys enjoyed the tutorial, at least now we know that a Jailbreak developer was able to enable this feature in the Facebook iOS App, so don’t you think that Facebook should just enable this? If you’re a long-time iOS user, you would have remember that a long time ago, the Facebook app, wouldn’t allow you to save a picture, you would have to download another Cydia tweak (which costed 0.99$) called FBPhotoSave (the name could be incorrect), do you think we will see this feature coming in the future?
