Making Money

Every site likes to make money, for some it’s a bonus and for others it’s their whole purpose of blogging. For ComLuv blogs, I want to make the whole daunting process of monetizing your blog into a simple and reliable process.

This is why I have made, and will make more, widgets and plugins that can be easily configured with an id or username to display links and buttons to approved affiliate programs and advertisers.

Adsense

There is a google adsense widget you can add to your ComLuv blog in seconds, just copy and paste your google id into the widget and you’ll get 80% of the adsense impressions shown on your blog.

Affiliate Widgets

The problem with affiliate programs is that there are so many out there promising to make you money that it’s nigh on impossible to choose a reputable program or company, especially if you’re a new blogger.

There will be a selection of approved affiliate sites that can be used on your ComLuv blog

If you have a particular program you’d like to include in this section, please contact me via the support tickets system.

Sitewide Ads

I have been testing a facility to serve ads on every blog , these will be 125×125 ads that can be sold by the individual blogs to be displayed sitewide. Blogs that refer the purchase will get a healthy chunk of the fee as commission.

Link-ads

There is a possibility to have a text ads plugin which would enable you to sell linked keywords in your posts. Simple signup and activation

Paid Blogroll

How about an automated blogroll plugin that allows you to sell anchored text links on your blogroll?

Paid Traffic

I have a reseller account with a traffic provider that could be integrated as an affiliate option for ComLuv blogs, any purchase made through your link earns you a commission.

Custom Themes

Are you a theme designer? do you want a platform to sell your premium themes, I envisage a system where a theme designer can make a theme specifically for someones ComLuv blog and make a charge for the service.

Custom code

Need a particular function or feature on your blog? how about a custom code purchase where you pay a small fee to get a unique bit of code or html added to your theme just for you.

Let me know what you’d like to see here for the make money section..

I have most recently been starting to take advantage of the true power of CommentLuv, all though I don’t use my blog for advertising or money making purposes I hope that others that do see how helpful this information really is. Great stuff as always from ComLuv.

On a side note do you see a CommentLuv plugin for Disqus being added any time soon? Reason I ask is that I recently was forced to make the tough choice between CommentLuv and Disqus, Disqus offers some tremendous commenting features that CommentLuv would compliment nicely.

I am working on something for Disqus but it’s very hard because they use an iframe to do their comment form and it’s impossible to interact with the contents with javascript on the main page. I’ll talk to them to see what we can do

  12. Time is such an awful thing – it just flies by! I’m interested to see that if I get a commentluv blog, and add adsense to it, I can get 80% of the adsense impressions, which is cool, but why I’m mentioning time is I’m a bit lost popping in here, and haven’t had the time to really check things out properly – at a single glance at some things, the “credits” mentioned are confusing and makes me think I need to pay to have a blog on this site, so need to read through the site a bit more, to make sure that, ideally, I don’t have to pay to have a blog here – I must just find the time soon – I hate time! :) I also notice something seems to be different about the search function showing the most recent updated commentluv enabled blogs in the past 7 days, and while all sorts of blogs used to come up in the results, now it seems to be mostly blogs on this site. I must really browse a bit more here as soon as I can!

I agree, things can be a little bit confusing for a new user. I’ll have to put up a roadmap or an a-b-c of commentluv when i get some time away from coding.
Thanks for your feedback about the search engine, there was an error in the xml file which is now fixed so it should be searching through all commentluv enabled sites.

      thanks for coming by!

This is great stuff. We’re a small group of college students that spend our off-time tracking UFO sightings around the world. We have some military veterans in our group so we have some pretty cool plans as far as blogging and articles go.

The question we’re asking ourselves, since we’re seeing a little bit of traffic, is how to monetize our site. You’ve given us something to think about, and at least an ordered list right in front of us that gives us ideas as far as direction.

    Thanks so much.

glad I could help! have you considered getting bulk credits for supporter status and selling UFO type supporter blogs made here for profit?
if you know your way around a wordpress install and have some ready made themes, maybe we could work out some sort of deal for having a group of UFO related themes with some unique addons only for UFO people and charge for them? I’d share the profits with someone if they were to help arrange that…

I didn’t even see this page before posting the recent post to my blog as seen below but it just makes it even better, more good stuff, the paid blogroll rotating, with anchored links, sounds like a great idea…

Would this only be for the comluv blogs, or something we could all use on ours as a plug-in, widget?

    Interesting ideas.
