Question 1: Have you ever wondered why only few people will get more shares, likes, tweets and comments?

Question 2: Why not everyone can build a successful blog?

That’s because few people have greater online influence where they can create miracles almost every time. Do you know what’s common in Daniel Scocco, Darren Rowse, Chris Brogan and Brian Clark?

They can start any blog from the scratch and flip it for more profits.

So how can they do that?

They learned how to learn from the mistakes. They faced many hurdles and worked their butt off to win the race.

They focused more on

  • Building a network
  • Making connections with others
  • Providing value to the readers
  • Being everywhere

And they never (ever) gave up!!

Those are the success secrets for any blog to succeed.

If you’re willing to build a better blog without having any online reputation, don’t run after money, instead, focus on creating value to the blogosphere with your content, and try to be everywhere by using guest posts, blog commenting, videos etc.

Is it really possible to make a successful blog without having online reputation?

The answer is.. YES!

Let’s dive into the details without further ado.

How to Succeed In Blogging When You Don’t Have Online Reputation Before?

Swing the pendulum the right way.

What’s the SINGLE most important factor that keeps your blog ticking?

Your content.

You must give the readers a compelling reason to return to your blog. Only engaging content can bring the readers to your blog again and again and again.

No matter whether you’re posting daily or weekly on your blog, you need to be consistent with the pace.

That’s REALLY important to gain the trust from the readers.

Make a proper posting schedule and stick with it. Don’t force yourself to create more content within time limits, you may lose the quality then.

I won’t share much content creation tips here, there are already tons of content creation tips over here on DailyBlogTips. I just want to share few content creation tips to reach greater audience for your blog.

Write clearly: Answer this question. Can your readers understand what you’re saying without reading it twice? If you’re writing using simple words, no doubt, everyone will love to read your content. Be clear what you’re writing about.

Be concise: There’s no need to write 1000+ words everytime. Cut the unwanted words. Be concise. Short paragraphs and short senteces will attract anyone. Moreover it’s easy to read and digest your content, your readers will love to hangout more on your blog then.

Link out to others often: Focus more on linking to others in your niche to reach more audience. It’s really important for you to link out to others to  grab others eyeballs. You’ll be providing more reasons to others to reach your blog. When they find your content useful, sooner or later, they’ll also start linking to your site.

Remember without having great content, any blog (even potential blogs) will fade away. That’s the power of having killer content.

Build thriving audience around your blog.

Often share others content: Everyone likes to be get their contents to be shared, but none of us promote others content. Try not to do this mistake. If you stumbled upon a useful blog post, promote it either by social media or write a follow up post on your own blog by giving a link back to the original site. This makes you special from others.

Publish often: Have you observed the posting frequency of ViperChill, SocialTriggers or BoostBlogTriffic? They publish very less content to add massive value to their posts, so it obviously take more time to research and write. You won’t see no more than one or two posts each month.

If you’re just starting out, don’t follow their posting schedule! Guys like Glen Allsoop, Derek Halphern are abnormal. They’re one of a kind and they already have a huge online reputation and fan base before. If you follow their posting schedule without having much online reputation, you’ll go nowhere and feel overwhelmed soon.

Moreover you need to put your name out there either by posting daily, creating videos or podcasts. This is one of the best ways to build a better online influence for yourself.

Go slow. Grow strong: Can anyone build a great network overnight? It’s impossible even for the super stars like Superman, Batman or Iron man ;)

The secret behind creating a thriving network around your blog is this: focus one reader at a time, at least in the beginning. Try to connect with them again and again. Solve their problems either by social media networks or using your own blog. Try to include their names on your blog posts whenever they leave thoughtful comments. Last but not least, start building your email list as soon as possible. Use the power of guest posting to grow your email list. This way you can build potential readership for your blog in less time.

Repurpose your content to be everywhere.

The problem with most bloggers is; they create only textual content. They don’t prefer creating infographics, videos, slideshares or podcasts for their blog posts.

Repurpose your own content to make it go viral. If you depend only on Google, there’s no way you can find the new readers for your blog. You should also be using all the mediums like YouTube, iTunes etc to attract more readers for your blog.

Turn your blog posts into infographics, slideshares, podcasts or even videos to reach wider audience.

Do you know that more than 50% of the readers found SmartPassiveIncome via YouTube, iTunes or links from other blogs?

So make sure you’re not only creating textual content but also targeting all the mediums to bring more people to read and share your content.

Note: Provide easily sharable options and include twitter and Facebook buttons as a minimum to get the content go viral on social media.

In a nutshell:

There’s no rocket science behind building a better blog without having online reputation. All you need to have is a clear vision, building a vibrant network and being helpful to others.

  20. Hi Rahul,
This surely intrigued me as I have been in this kind of situation before, after all, who hasn’t? Everyone has to start to zero when it comes to anything, especially blogging. Great tips you have shared here on how to succeed in blogging even if one does not have an online reputation initially. The main thing is to never give up and continue even if the odds are great. Getting your content to be seen on different platforms is a great idea, and not everyone does this even if there are legitimate ways that it can be done, but still not a lot really does it, even if the methods are practically free!(For example, Facebook and Twitter) Thanks for sharing!

Trying to develop content that is suitable for all audiences is one of the hardest things to do. It’s sometimes hard to remember you aren’t trying to target only advanced or only novice readers. I believe your ideas of leaving out unnecessary words and creating short concise paragraphs is the key. Use of common understandable words is also important.
