I have to admit. I screwed up. You see, I was all primed and poised to submit a guest post to The ComLuv blog a few months ago. I saw the potential, I was ready and raring to go. Excited to create value, meet a new blogging audience and generate online business leads. I set up my account. Logged in. Then….WHOOSH! I became deflated, fast. Why?

Big Time Mistake

I made a mistake, a rare one for me. I looked through the guest post submissions in the queue. The posts were all stacked up until mid December. Yep, just about the exact day I am writing and submitting this post. So instead of thinking Big Picture, and writing the post, I fell in love with instant gratification, did not write the post, and here I am submitting today.

Now I am generating online business leads just nicely but of course, a guest post on this blog will skyrocket my opt-ins and introduce me to a brand new audience. I admit, I rarely make this small picture thinking, impatient error, but I did with this blog, at least until now. I learned my lesson, so I will submit, and when it publishes, it publishes.

You Rob Yourself of Online Business Leads

Each time you put off writing a guest post because it will not go live within a day, or a week, or even a month, you rob yourself of home business leads. I thought this way, when considering whether I should write a guest post for problogger, or not. I waffled, waited months then said to hell with it, let’s post! It was funny, when I sent the guest post to Georgina at PB, she actually told

me she wanted to email me, to offer me the opportunity to write a guest post for problogger.

How about that? I was tremendously humbled, for sure, and I realized quickly that I was doing the right thing, submitting the post even though I had to wait over a month to see it go live. Because when my problogger guest post went live I saw a 5 fold surge in opt-ins. When my last FamousBloggers guest post went live I saw an EIGHT FOLD surge in opt-ins that day.

This is the power of leveraging, of reaching into new audiences and of being tremendously patient, and adopting a Big Picture approach.

Your Vision

What is your vision? Do you want to be a world-traveling online entrepreneur? Authority blogger? Or do you simply want to help people to make money online, while prospering online yourself? Whatever your vision, etch the picture in detail, in your mind. This helps you to think Big Picture, and it helps you delay instant gratification, and it helps you remain patient, it influences you to make the right choices, like posting on a blog with a massive, targeted readership, even if you must wait 1 month or more to see the post go live.

See Beyond Today

You might be robbing yourself of leads. You might ignore opportunities like guest posting, opps that will pan out 2 weeks or 1 month from now. You might keep putting off investing in marketing vehicles like sol ads, because you fear spending 10, 20 or 100 bucks, when, if you had a Big Picture approach, you would see the 20 leads you could attract for the 10 bucks.

Stop thinking small. Let the impulse for instant gratification die, and start thinking Big Picture. You will cease robbing yourself of leads and grow your online business in a massive way.

Did you make this big league mistake in the past? Or were you always a Big Picture thinker?

How to you kill the impulse of instant gratification?
