  1. Wow, this is very cool. Either it’s a new feature or I have been asleep at the wheel for a while now. I can see how this would be beneficial for anyone who uses facebook as the amount of data stored on each person’s account is huge. Also, some memories could be lost. Great post!

Oh wow I didn’t know you could do that. I have all the pictures on my Facebook that other people took I have them nowhere else but on my Facebook. I am going to go and do that now!

  3. Glad to see Facebook is constantly increasing its security. Everyone one should take any and every measure to protect their sensitive information.

  4. Twitter:
Facebook’s security is reasonable tight, I do believe users need to be more vigilance when choosing passwords and what computer they’re using to log into accounts and if using a public wireless network to ensure it’s secure.

  5. Twitter:
Archiving your facebook is a good idea if you get hacked often. I for one got hacked a lot a few years back because I linked every account I had to an old hotmail adress which I knew was hacked and didnt use anymore. How stupid was that!
I removed the email adress from all my accounts as backup email and I never got hacked again :)

  6. It’s a fairly useful feature but what does it export to? Folders and files? Or some sort of random file extension data file?

It might be useful in the future, if one is looking to “export” their profile to a new social network that sets up a way to import.

Great idea from FaceBook. I had no idea we could do this. Thanks so much for the post.

  11. My Facebook was hacked recently. It was a pain. I followed all the steps, but got locked out. I had to wait 2 days before I could get back in. Annoying, since I followed all their steps. No customer support, either.

  12. This is very helpful since we’ve always heard or read a lot of Facebook horror stories wherein their accounts were being hacked or even on Twitter. When was this feature started? I didn’t know that Facebook has this kind of security setting already. Thanks for sharing this and I’ll definitely check my account now.
