Updated function for checking username to prevent reset if commentluv server not available

Some people were reporting username resetting more than once, this was due to the commentluv server going down a couple of times in the day. I have updated the code so it should fail gracefully instead of having a hissy fit if it can’t contact commentluv site.

I’ve postponed the export settings function because that will take more than a few keystrokes to do. I can envisage some work there to make sure import and export can’t be used to confuddle things.
