I’ve got an advertising budget and I’ma gonna spend it!

I’ve seen lots of bloggers in the past who have asked for sponsorship to go to a conference and have often considered being their sponsor but I could never justify the cost.

Until now that is! Since CommentLuv Premium has been doing so well lately, I’ve got a thing called an advertising budget. woohoo! and I plan on spending it places that can not only make a difference to me but make a difference to the person I’m advertising with.

I got sent a Google alert for the term CommentLuv (you do use Google alerts don’t you?) and it told me that Amanda at The Ana Mum Diary had just mentioned CommentLuv.

btw.. if you set up a Google alert for the term ‘commentluv’ then you get notified of every new blog that installs it which is super useful for finding awesome new places to get backlinks (hint hint)

Amanda had just installed the plugin on her new site and the post I arrived on was Introducing Me! where she mentioned she wanted to go to her first conference and timidly asked if anyone wanted to sponsor her.

Looking at her comments and how she responded to them made her a perfect CommentLuv ambassador so I (also timidly) asked what was required of a sponsor and bip bop, a few emails later and I am officially a sponsor and a bit of my CommentLuv Premium earnings can go towards helping someone go to their first conference and I get a bit of promotion for CommentLuv from the deal.

Go on, give her some encouragement

If you’ve got CommentLuv on your site or you’ve been to conferences that have helped you become a better blogger then head on over to the Ana Mum Diary and say hello to Amanda and let her know. (especially if you’re a mom-blogger too)

Have you sponsored someone to go to a conference?

I’d love to hear from you if you’ve done this kind of sponsorship for your company/brand before. What were you experiences and were you satisfied with the results?

Do you need sponsorship?

If this goes well then sponsoring people to go to conferences might be something that I will do much more of. Especially if I can sponsor someone that would be a perfect fit to the CommentLuv Premium plugin, I get to help people and CommentLuv gets even more exposure.

By all means submit a support ticket if you have a sponsorship opportunity and I’ll give it some consideration and if it’s within my budget and you’re a good fit then it might happen.

    I use google alerts for all kinds of things like keeping on eye on the rest of my market. Do a google search on it there are ALL kinds of uses.
