Today you’re going to discover one of the most underrated SEO tactics I see most internet marketers (involved in some kind of SEO) not using.
I’m still amazed how powerful this little tactic is and how much it can give you to your bottom line Google rankings.
Now, I will tell you right up-front that this SEO method is not free. So that you’re not confused asking yourself this question. Furthermore, it isn’t the cheapest SEO tactic too.
But don’t be afraid because it won’t cost you a fortune. You can expect to see some incredible results only spending a small amount of money.
And I would encourage you to try out this strategy. It really can change your SE rankings for the much better.
What Is Domain Buying …Why You Need It
Domain Buying can be looked at from different angles. Though, today we are going to view it from the internet marketer’s point of view.
The basic concept is this: “You buy different domain names, then restructure them for SEO, and then put a backlink leading to your money site”.
So you can see. We are taking advantage of this great SEO tactic by creating backlinks leading to your money site. We all know how powerful backlinks are for search engines. Google just loves them.
And I’m going to claim that backlinks are still the essence of SEO. It is still the most important aspect of a successful SEO campaign.
In short: “If you want to improve your Google rankings and get that #1 position, you’ll definitely need a lot of quality backlinks”!
But the fact is that it isn’t so easy to find a bunch of high PR, aged quality backlinks. They aren’t infinite in supply.
It can be very frustrating for the newbie internet marketer to find these, even the “seasoned” professional SEO guy has some hustle.
Therefore, I’m going to give you one of the most powerful and day-after-day proven SEO tactics ever discovered. You guessed it, it’s indeed called domain buying…
What’s It All About
As I said earlier, it can be very frustrating to find loads of quality backlinks. Therefore, I’m going to make your job much easier.
Domain buying gives you the freedom to get backlinks whenever you need them. If you are having a problem with one of your money sites, no problem!
Just buy a few carefully chosen domain names, make the quick changes, and your SE rankings are already improving a lot.
The good news really is that it is incredibly easy to implement this strategy.
The Step-By-Step Process
OK, without further ado, let’s get straight to the meat.
Don’t be afraid though, you won’t have to sell your soul to learn this stuff. It’s some of the easiest, yet very powerful stuff you’ll ever discover in SEO.
Here’s the “killer” simple process:
1. Let’s pick a niche. Say, you’re in the “acai berry” niche.
So, you want to build some quick high PR, aged domain backlinks. No problem whatsoever!
2. We know that domain buying is the choice.
Therefore, let’s discover some cool marketplaces where to find our new domain names.
Possibilities here are endless, although some of the fastest and easiest are: digitalpoint.com, flippa.com, www.godaddy.com.
3. Probably, the easiest way is to just stick with digitalpoint.com right at the beginning.
Head over to the Digital Point Forum’s domain marketplace and you’ll see a lot of domains being actively sold there.
4. An obvious question would be: “How to choose a domain name for backlinks”?
Here’s my opinion:
- buy the PR2-4 (if you’re a beginner)
- the domain “name” doesn’t matter
- be sure to recheck everything the vendor states about the domain
- go for a shorter domain “name” vs. longer (to remember)
5. Say, you’ve chosen a particular domain name you want to investigate further. Be it a PR2, or PR3, or PR4.
When you click on any vendor’s any one forum thread, on the next page you’ll see that thread.
Now, there are some main options what you can do to buy that domain. First, you can “buy it now”. Second, you can bid an amount. You can choose what you like better.
6. Depends on the vendor, but if there’s an option to pay with PayPal, go with PayPal (just more reliable). And you can get a refund easier if something goes wrong with the purchase.
7. I would say that the registrar is also important. Because you don’t want to end up with 10 different registrars for your domain names, choose carefully the registrar.
Have max 2-3 different registrars like GoDaddy, Dynadot, Moniker.
8. It’s important to check how many backlinks the domain name carries with it. If it says “24″, then it is probably too little. I would look for a domain name which carries with it at least a thousand backlinks.
The quality of the backlinks is important, of course, too! Use SEO Quake to spy on the backlink quality – PR, age.
9. Age of the domain name? Google loves aged domain names. So, the older the domain name, the better.
10. OK, let’s assume you have bought the domain.
After you’ve completed all the formalities and the vendor has pushed the domain name into your account, you are ready for the next quick stage.
11. You want to place some links on the newly acquired domain name to push some link juice over to your money site.
This can be done in different ways, but the most basic and powerful is to put some links on the homepage.
12. Either create some links with the “correct” anchor text on the side of the homepage or write a blog post (install WordPress) and hyperlink the title with the exact KW you want.
Put some links inside the blog post too. Simple, right?
13. But don’t question yourself too much about the “related content, niche” stuff.
I, myself, don’t care what the “name” of my domain vs. the money site’s name and niche is. If you have a mismatch like a xyz.com bought domain name and a xzy.com money site, I wouldn’t fret too much.
14. Ping the new domain name or blog post and you’re done!
If you give domain buying for SEO purposes a quick try, I promise you’ll see some immediate great results. Pushing your website up 10> rankings on Google isn’t uncommon in the beginning. If you buy more domain names, you could do much better.
Actually, you could grow all your internet marketing business on this domain buying strategy alone. It’s that powerful!

This is indeed an extremely useful technique. If you buy aged domains (btw, not sure how important is the PR nowadays – I rely on DA more) that are related to your content, links from there will definitely help you. But this is to be done when you can get your money back. This means your main website should be making some bucks (or at least you’re sure they will).
Anyway, I have a question for you: aren’t new domains effective at all? Let’s say I buy several domain names for pointing to my main website. I put some original content here and there and then link to my website. This way you spend less on this technique, but anyhow, is it worth it? Have you tried?
Thanks!

Hi Scott,
Yeah you can buy brand new domain names and then add some content afterwards, but it’s still some work. I prefer the aged domain names, because they will give you more link juice.
It takes some months until Google will give your brand new domain name some juice, so you can shortcut it with an aged domain.

Hi Jameson,
Yeah, I agree you need your own stuff, but what I’m talking here is that you leverage the power of aged domain names, which is another story.
It really helps for your off-page SEO, incredibly well actually. You skip the 6 months or longer to get your brand new domain name rank.
So you create backlinks on your aged domain, then you can see your money site or blog rank much better in a couple of weeks.

The formatting of this article could be better to understand better, but the aged domain name process is really easy and straightforward.
Once you get the aged domain name, then you need to put some of your own original content on it and then you need to create some backlinks which lead to your money site you want to rank on Google.

Interesting article , have never thought of buying used domain names , is the history of the domain easy to check ? Don’t want to buy a domain that has been banned for spam . So its as easy as buying a pr2-4 domain building a website and backlinking to may main website? look foreward to hearing your reply before i try . Thanks for the advice
Twitter: rec4marketing
says:
Yeah, you can check the domain name with http://whois.domaintools.com/ to see if it has been dropped before, as this is a bad sign. It basically means that the seller is trying to scam you.
So, the domain won’t carry any page rank, if it’s dropped.
Buying a good aged domain name will save you many ezine articles or blog comments, because they don’t carry nearly as much link juice as a PR3 domain name with your backlink.

I have 2 worries about this.
1. Don’t you have to keep building links to the PR2 -PR4 bought domains. If not wont the PR of these domains drop at the next PR update?
2. Buying 1 or 2 domain is ok. But if you have more than 10 then you have to consider the hosting fee. And they should not be hosted on the same IP’s , otherwise the links will have little value.

Hi Andrew,
1. I f the domain name hasn’t been dropped, then you won’t need to keep building links. You basically buy a domain name with already 100-3000> backlinks. That’s why I suggest you also keep an eye for the backlink count.
And also, I like to analyze the link juice of those backlinks before I buy.
2. Yeah, this can become a problem at some point, but don’t worry too much about shared IP’s for your aged domain names.
For me, it hasn’t been too much of an issue. There are some people I know who have a shared IP server and have 100> aged domain names.
I don’t think they would host every domain name on a separate server.

Hi Satrap,
I think the link juice is still decent. I don’t have more than a dozen quality aged domains now, but still feel I get a quick boost for my niche websites.
If you don’t have a thousand outgoing links on the aged domain name, then I don’t think link juice will suffer much. Again, never know until you test.
Right now I’m not ranking any big authority sites in a competitive niche, this is when you need a separate server for each domain name I think.

But my question is about its financial impact. How much will it cost to buy a PR2 or PR3 Website and would it be better for a low earning Website owner or Blogger?

I was going to say the same thing. I just went out to Flippa.com as the author suggests, and in my niche, which is humor, there aren’t many there, but the ones that are PR4 or higher would cost me a minimum of $4,000. I can barely afford to buy a box of HotPockets with the money I’m making from my blog right now.

Great step-by-step walkthrough. This is great because you are buying all the hard work that someone else put into making their site a success. With that success comes those ever elusive juice passing backlinks. And unlike direct link buying picking up a domain and adding your own links in isn’t a violation of the Google ToS. My only additional piece of advice would be to avoid domains registered with DRoA. Very difficult to deal with.
