I’ve been having a nightmare at home! My desktop pc crashed the big crash and I was only just able to recover my files, I thought I fixed the problem but the pc continues to freeze. It’s done it through XP, Vista and 7 so it’s defintely hardware. I think it might be my RAM or then again it could be the CPU. Or perhaps even the motherboard…. like I said, nightmare!

My laptop charger has given up too so my work time coding can’t happen either.

Then the work internet went down.

I have to throw in the towel here until I can get some parts and other bits and bobs so I’ll be gone for the weekend and most of next week. Things are still working here though, there’s the affiliate plugin working well and showing stats for every new member signup and purchase. I’ll get the code done for adding additional urls per account within a few weeks if I can keep the pc powered up and ready to receive code for longer than an hour.

Keep on luvvin!

Hang in there, Andy! Just a bump in the road.

Glad you were able to retrieve your data. Backup schemes are a good idea.

yup, I’ve learned the hard way in the past. whenever I do something major to the server now I do a full httpdocs backup and mysql dump. saved me more than once!

I’ve had just too many hardware issues as well. .. Have you considered a forum for support, or is there one I’m unaware of? My WP 2.8 Thesis them is spitting out headers instead of blog posts… I ‘m sure it’s happened to others. HELP.

Also- is the plugin WP 2.8 compatible? My Download says Nay.

I managed to fix the pc problem by upping the DRAM voltage. the server works again and is better with 1gb more of ram and my new laptop charger arrived today. plus, the internet is working again!

the plugin is definitely compatible with 2.86

It’s always discouraging when it comes to PC problems. You can work with your PC the whole day and night and miraculously the next day it refuses to boot. I’ve got this problem a few time with my PC. This time round, I am having a PC problem which I am not having enough time to fix. But it will be done surely when the right time presents itself!

I did some thorough searching and think I found the solution to my own pc problems. it’s been fine for a few days now since I changed a setting in the BIOS. If it carries on being nice then I’ll be able to start some new coding on a half finished page. yey

Sorry to hear you’ve had so much trouble. Maybe it was some sun spot or something…
