Woohoo! it’s been a fun two weeks of coding and mad rush fixing but I’ve finally caught up..
Brand New Theme
I started coding the new registration system and before I knew it, I had a whole new theme coded. It took 5 days of late into the night coding and plenty of scratching of head but I think I have it all working nicely and it has some new features for users to look at..
One page to rule them all
The last theme got quite busy with all the things I added on to the original look and it was time to consolidate all the most used links and put them in an easy to read button or 4. You can get to any part of the site from the front page so I hope this makes it a bit easier to navigate and work out what the site is for.
Daily Visit Lists
A vast improvement to the old list, now there are 3;
Top 5 Sites by comments received.
Top 5 Members by comments made.
Last 5 sites to enable commentluv.
The first two are regenerated every 24 hours and the new sites are updated every hour on the hour so you’ve always got an opportunity to find new and fresh commentluv sites.
Read here how to get on the visit lists
Ads over the whole site
I am still keeping the same number of ads on the site but, this time they will be visible on the homepage AND on the sidebar of the rest of the blog. And, I’m keeping the price the same!
15$ per week or 50$ for the whole month for a link or banner on a high traffic site as well as multiple page rank listed pages.
Now really is the time to get a link or banner before I listen to the people saying that it’s too cheap and put the price up.
A big thanks goes to the following who advertised with ComLuv this month..

New URL registration routines
As mentioned before, the URL registration pages needed updating and now they’ve been completely rewritten from scratch and tested for all the things that people had to submit support tickets for.
Visit the member page here and make sure your details are up to date (including your Twitter name) so you can appear on the daily visit list.
Support moved inside
I’ve moved the support system and FAQ to a menu in the dashboard so now you have to be a registered member to access it. I can’t keep the old system open as it was getting hammered by bots and scripts.
The new FAQ is available above the support ticket and covers most all the problems that people ask about so please check that first before submitting a ticket. It will save me having to type out the same answers again and again!

Forums!
Yes, there are now forums. Very simple forums but, they’re forums! I am trialling out the forums plugin from WPMU Dev and it seems to work ok. I’ve made it supporter only for now but you can activate it on your comluv blog if you buy the package for 5 credits per year then you can have it on any of your comluv blogs.

More themes coming
Now the main theme is finished, I will be putting more themes on the site. Some for regular users and some awesome ones for supporters like the entire ComicPress theme and manager and perhaps some premium themes which I’ll have to pay a developers licence for!
My laptop crashed again (and again)
I am back online fully now that my laptop has finally accepted Windows 7 as it’s saviour. It wouldn’t take it straight from XP and it wouldn’t load from fresh because of some old RAID drivers but, I kicked it in the head and now it’s doing as it’s told.
I’m back mwuhahaha!
Please leave me some feedback on what you want to see on the site, it’s the only directions I get

Hey Andy! Good to hear you’re still doing okay after the crashing incident. Hopefully you’ll have time for some much-deserved sleep. Windows 7 should really help. And the new site looks really shiny! Very clean. Great job!

I very much appreciative of you taking the time to come to my blog. Surprised even, as you must see a lot of new users come in and out, it’s impressive that you took the time, and judging from the comment you left, actually took the time to read it. But then again, I suppose a great community/product like CommentLuv doesn’t grow from you being lazy, does it?
On topic…I resisted the change to Vista, and 7, for many of the same reasons. When I finally tried 7, I was so impressed by the changes M$FT had made, the built-in hardware support, ease of access for admin commands, the fact that admin menus and commands are named similarly enough that an IT guy like me who knows XP can actually find his way around…it’s enough to make me gush in a run-on sentence.
Anyhow, TL;DR, thanks for the love(luv?), and Win7 is indeed a wonderful upgrade.

actually, commentluv was born because of my laziness! I wanted a simple automatic way of rewarding my commenters and it did the job so well that everyone wanted one.
I have got windows 7 on my laptop now and have upgraded it to 4GB ram so now it’s flying! I’m really impressed with it and I’m glad I made the move
thanks for coming by and for using commentluv!
