On the weekends when I have more time I might do a crock pot meal - an Irish stew or lamb shanks and freeze a couple of meals, or eat one, save one for another day and freeze one. Then you only have to heat it up and throw some veges on to steam during the week. Freezing isn't the best option but it's great to have a healthy meal prepared when you get home and can't be bothered cooking from scratch - it's also the start of winter here so a great time for crock pots and soups!Another favourite of ours is salmon, baked in the oven with oven baked wedges and a fresh green salad. That meal only takes 30 minutes from start to being on the table. As most of us who work full time are pretty time poor, you just have to be a bit organised and think ahead with your meal planning.Cheers Hi David

For me it's more of a starting block that fits in well with my own thoughts on nutrition. I believe in eating natural, wholesome foods and try to avoid anything that has been processed, or produced using modern farming methods, wherever possible. The downside is, of course, that preparing a wholesome meal is more time consuming than chucking a frozen pizza in the microwave for 3 minutes! Full Paleo made sense when we were primarily hunter gatherers, but now we're primarily 9 til 5ers it's really tough to stick to. That's a loaded question. But as general as possible, I'm going to reverse it. It is best to eat as close to exercise as possible, before or after.Fat storage occurs when you eat and insulin is released, putting the carbs (and to a lesser extent, fat) into fat cells. When you exercise, there is a window where insulin becomes hypersensitive, putting carbs into muscle and liver cells, not fat.My best advice is to eat the most BEFORE or especially AFTER you workout, particularly if you eat any carbs at all. By after, I mean immediately to 90 minutes after a workout. I wouldn't eat any carbs besides fruits and vegetables outside of this window if you really want to burn fat.I hope this is helpful.
