conversion_rate_efficiencyYou probably don’t know it but your blog has some money “holes”, unless you have already implemented the tips I’ll share here.

These tips are super easy to implement and require not so much time.

You can increase the conversion rate of your blog by 300% easily if you follow the advice and take action.

So, this is what I’m talking about…

Add an Opt-in Box After Each Blog Post

This is a biggie, because most of the readers won’t subscribe to your email newsletter through the opt-in box in the sidebar.

Actually, the higher percentage will subscribe through the link or better the opt-in box after the blog posts.

There’s quite a difference. For me something like 4,5/6 of all people will subscriber through the opt-in box after the blog post.

If you don’t want to add an opt-in box, then you can simply create a banner ad, as I’ve done before.

But make sure the banner ad is good and it leads directly to the squeeze page, and not the sales page, which many people do wrong.

You need to get the lead and want to follow them up with a well thought out sequence of emails.

Remove the Junk Links

This is something many people don’t want to do, but it is required if you want to maximize the amount of sales you get.

I’m talking about removing all the clutter links in your sidebar, and remove them from other places too.

Under

this category go links like archive, blog roll links, links to other websites, twitter links, recent comments, recent articles.

Instead, you should keep it simple and keep the stuff which is the best. The links to your resource pages, to the articles which teach people to accomplish something right away.

The biggest reason to remove the unnecessary links is just to make the life for other people easier. You may know what’s in the links and articles, but others don’t.

When a new visitor lands on your page, you want to keep it super simple for them to click on the links you really want.

These are the links which will make you money. The links which lead to a squeeze page or a bonus or something.

Keep the Website Design Simple

With all the WordPress themes out there today, it’s easy to get lost and choose the template inappropriate for your blog.

The thing to focus on is simplicity.

You really don’t need the template with the most features or widget possibilities.

Instead, I advise you choose a minimalist template. Again, just to make the new visitor click on the right places.

Yeah, I must say it sort of depends on the niche you’re in, but the focus should be on simplicity.

Unless you really have great ideas how to implement the features a theme has, there’s no point in choosing the one with the most features.

People have become a little bit bored with the flashy, colorful and feature-packed templates. They want the information delivered but in a focused way.

If they want a magazine, they buy a magazine, which is packed with different kinds of information.

Thanks Ray for the great advice. I had never thought of adding an opt-in box at the bottom of an article, but it’s a great idea. It makes sense that more people would sign up after reading an article that interested them.

    Cheers!

I really like the idea of an opt-in box at the end of your post, that’s a great idea as I didn’t have any luck at all putting mine at the side and have given up trying to start a list at the moment.

  10. \’Add an Opt-in Box After Each Blog Post\’ so true. Love the new design development with skipping totally the sidebar on blog posts. Focus on the entry and indeed add the sign-up or social stuff underneath the post.

  12. I appreciate your advice. I have a blog through blogger and I am using the dynamic template and I often wonder if I shouldn’t just revert back to the simpler look. Would it help with my ad sense revenue? I feel like I am testing this template for a month or so and then may revert back just to see what happens. Thanks again for your article.

    best,
