I totally agree that you should NOT diet. Nature insures that your body will regain the weight; and that’s why 95% of dieters end up regaining the weight- not because they lack discipline! Eating a balanced diet, and NOT eating toxins – such as aspartame and genetically modified foods is most important. The one recommendation about a food not to eat is: Omega 6 vegetable oils. Definitely have fats (butter, Coconut, olive oil), but not vegetable oils (Canola, corn, soy, etc… ).
And enjoy yourself in the gym, but don’t overdo it – i t will increase your hunger and decrease your metabolism!

You are so correct. If you don’t deprive yourself of anything, then you don’t end up binging on it!

Your body has a memory, turns of your digestion when you repeatedly diet sho when you are finished with your diet and going to eat in the ‘normal’ way, you regain weight. I tried some diets, and they were good. but in the short term, after a few months i were more heavy than I was before.

My formula, eat varied and take more visits at the gym :)

What is your opinion about diet products with aspartame in it?
I have read an article about aspartame with the possible side effects, i was shocked.

Thanks and keep up the good blogs.

When you go on a diet and deprive yourself with foods you like, it gets to a point that you start craving all the time. Then you go totally bonkers and eat too much in one sitting.

I can remember weight 108 and thinking i was just disgustingly fat. Now I think I’m pretty hot at 128! How things change as we grow up and get a little smarter!
Strass is such a huge factor in our weight loss and gain! I’m thankful I found my balance and that I realized my resting BMR was only 1200 calories a day. That was tough, however once I learned that, it was easy to add some protein and some muscle. Now my BMR is is up around 2200 and I have the energy I was lacking!

Other than losing the stress, I believe one has to understand that if he/she wants to achieve effective long term weight loss, then he/she needs to go on a diet which they can imagine themselves following for the REST of their lives, rather than for a short period of time (eg. yo yo dieting/crash dieting).

Hi Jason,
Thanks for your comment. I can see that you understand the cycle, and the fact that stress is part of it! Exercise, the RIGHT kind, can relieve stress; but the wrong kind can create it, and make things worse. If your body temperature goes down after exercise, you’ve stressed yourself! The best approach is moderation in all things: enjoy your life & nurture yourself! Then nature will take care of the rest.
Best of luck,
Lianda

I did prefer being a vegetarian but I am not completely. Instead, I consume lots of fruits and exercise regularly.
